February 17, 2021: The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) signed an agreement with Zain KSA for introducing telecommunications and internet services on its site during the construction phase. Phase one of the project includes 16 hotels across five islands and two inland resorts, and will complete in 2023, along with the destination’s international airport.
February 16, 2021: Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has deployed its 5G network in more than 47 cities around the country, with the operator is aiming to expand it to 71 cities in the next phase.

Till now, Omantel only had 5G packages for home broadband however with recent announcement, it seems the mobile subscribers will also be able to enjoy 5G on the go. January 01, 2021: China is set to build 600,000 base stations for the 5G telecommunication network in 2021, as it accelerates 5G infrastructure construction. The country will further promote 5G network construction and application , including accelerating the roll-out in major cities. The country at the end of September announced new plans aiming to accelerate construction for some technology sectors including the 5G network.
January 29, 2021: Ooredoo Group and Ericsson have signed a global frame agreement for the supply of 5G radio, core and transport products and solutions, as well as related implementation and integration services. The deal includes Ericsson Radio System, including MINI-LINK 6000 products that are capable of 10Gbps, Ericsson Cloud Core, Cloud Infrastructure and Ericsson Cloud Communication solutions.

January 21, 2021: Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) launched a S$30 million fund to accelerate the adoption and commercialisation of 5G solutions. The fund is part of IMDA's 5G Innovation Programme and will support efforts by enterprises to adopt 5G solutions.
January 14, 2021: The Australian network NBN Co teamed up with Ericsson, Qualcomm, and Casa Systems to set a new world record for long-range mmWave 5G transmission. A stable 5G mmWave connection was established over 7.3km away while delivering steady speeds of almost 1Gbps. The company expects to further increase its range in future tests.
